I was having issues with the camera the other day, and got some weird flash effects. This was initially all kinds of washed out, but I was pretty pleased with how I made it turn out.

If you don’t like it…I was also hanging out on the porch, which doesn’t really have the best light for editing pictures by.

It works great for the pictures (no tripod here!). Doesn’t quite work as well for the cat.

For my birthday, John got a new lens for the camera: a 55mm-250mm one I’ve been coveting. I heart the macro picture, but wanted something more…like something I could use to take pictures from across the room. To demonstrate, instead of taking one of the couple pictures I took from across the room, I actually got a really good shot of what I could do with a long lens like this.

Puffy Heart

That is one of our cats, Puffy. He’s sitting on a cooler (across the room!), and between us is one of our dining room chairs, which has a heart cutout. Completely would not have been able to do this with the standard 18mm-55mm lens we have now. And this was only at 100mm. I could have taken a “closer” picture!
