Frog Prince

When I took this picture, I wanted the frog to be the focus. When I was working on it, I couldn’t do anything to get him not to be the focus. This made me happy. :)

Taken inside the New Hampshire building at the Eastern States Exposition (The Big E), Springfield MA.

I Can See My House!

What flying used to be like in the good old days when men would dress up in suits and use their film cameras to take pictures of things that probably wouldn’t come out. Especially not when he had the flash turned on. Taken at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, Washington D.C.

Washington Monument at Sunset

John and I have returned from our trip to Washington DC, which seemed a lot less crowded than last year. The Washington Monument was closed for safety after the unusual earthquake around DC on August 23rd, so at least it made sense that there wasn’t anyone there. Though I did notice while working on this one that I happened to catch John as he was taking pictures himself.

The sunset is mostly real…I did do a little tweaking of the colors in a new layer, then did a Linear Dodge blend. It was quite dramatic, so that top layer is set to 70% opacity.

Weekend Ukulele: The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain

My vacation starts shortly, so it’s technically my weekend. (Just about.) I just listened to their podcast, and I’m a new total fan of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. This one doesn’t have the ukes in it, but too funny!

This one does have the ukes in it, and is also hilarious. Now to check the tour dates…

John’s Ring

My husband, John, gave me this ring a while ago, around the time we decided to get married. I don’t have an engagement or wedding ring, per se, but the jewelry he’s given me are quite special, as you would imagine. :)

Oh, and we also got a 50mm compact macro lens this summer.

Product Placement

Yeah…been off with the Worcester Shakespeare Company working on Hamlet and Comedy of Errors this summer, hence the blog has been a bit sporadic. (And that’s putting it mildly.) I do have some stuff here and there, so will start going through that soon. In the meantime, we got a 15mm Fisheye lens. I like it!

Water Fountain

I went to a baseball game up the street with the awesome Canon 5D Mark II, and a 20-70 mm lens. Why? We have a 70-200 mm lens which would have worked much better! So I took pictures of a water fountain for you.

I also forgot bug spray. That might be more important to remember next time…

Cover Weekend: Perfect Day

This cover came out in England when I spent my semester in London, and was sold to benefit BBC Children in Need. I still think it’s a darn good version, and an awesome video.

Weekend Ukulele: Bad Romance

This is my go-to Friday song, and I think this girl does an awesome job with it!
