Another Guest Ukulele Picture

And here’s a better shot of me playing the ukulele. And by better, I mean that I look more like I know what I’m doing. Photo also by John.

New Ukulele

Did I mention I have a ukulele?

For my birthday, my awesome husband got me a ukulele! It will soon be incorporated into the band…once I master playing songs vs. playing chords. (This picture by John, as I’m obviously too busy being perplexed.)

Finally, straight from Japan, we got our second camera body. It’s a Canon 5D Mark II, and I’m just astounded by it. Look!! I shot this at ISO 6400! See how not-noisy it is, even though we were in the dark basement!

Baby Dee @ The Middle East Downstairs

So I’ve gotten to see a bunch of really great shows lately! I’ll start bombarding you with recommendations for a while now…

Last week, we saw Swans at The Middle East Downstairs, and Baby Dee was the opening act. I am now fascinated with the harp, even more so how you play punk harp.

Taken on my cameraphone during a photowalk with John. Photoshopped just a little to get an artsy effect.

Lane 3 FTW

This past weekend, we strolled down to the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships, which happened to be on Lake Quinsig. I didn’t know very many of the schools there, and no one who was actually racing, so I got a bunch of cool pictures of I-don’t-know-what. This one was taken from the judges’ island, which was the only place anyone noticed I was there taking pictures.

Liam

Yay! I finally got to meet my new nephew, Liam, after a month. He’s a very sweet, quiet, tiny baby. I love him already. :)

David at the March of Dimes walk on Saturday, rocking out to The Scooby Snax Band. Actually, I quite enjoyed the show myself.

You, Me, and Chuck P

John and I with Chuck Palahniuk last night at his reading/signing. Certainly one of the most fun readings I’ve been to, and I’m not just saying that because I came home with an inflatable heart, an inflatable Oscar, and a poster. Oh, and autographed books. And, of course, an autographed duckie!

I really hope I don’t smile like that all the time…

Fell in love with a boy this week…

Oh, what a strange, wonderful, surprising week. I was reminded how great my family is. I found out what a strong person I have the privilege of knowing. And, I inadvertently fell in love with a boy.
