I was almost tempted to crop my foot out. Aside from that, I just did a couple adjustments when I converted it from RAW…does that means I can call this “as shot”?

Before Turning Around

John and I visited Ithaca for the first time this weekend. I went to college there, and I really love that place. We didn’t have much time to spend, so we went to Buttermilk Falls State Park, one of the first places I went to myself. We hiked about 1/3 mile up the gorge trail, and got to here before turning around. Who wouldn’t love this place?

Frog Prince

When I took this picture, I wanted the frog to be the focus. When I was working on it, I couldn’t do anything to get him not to be the focus. This made me happy.

What flying used to be like in the good old days when men would dress up in suits and use their film cameras to take pictures of things that probably wouldn’t come out. Especially not when he had the flash turned on. Taken at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, Washington D.C.

Washington Monument at Sunset

John and I have returned from our trip to Washington DC, which seemed a lot less crowded than last year. The Washington Monument was closed for safety after the unusual earthquake around DC on August 23rd, so at least it made sense that there wasn’t anyone there. Though I did notice while working on this one that I happened to catch John as he was taking pictures himself.

The sunset is mostly real…I did do a little tweaking of the colors in a new layer, then did a Linear Dodge blend. It was quite dramatic, so that top layer is set to 70% opacity.

Spring Concert

And yes, it was cold enough that he needed a sweater. Which I totally love, by the way!

These concert pictures were taken using the zoom without a flash. I thought they looked good on Wednesday, but between then and now they became all noisy. I blame the eclipse. That’s usually when I turn things into art prints, or at the very least put them into black and white. I did try sepia, but the black and white (at 65% opacity) looked much better. I like how you can still see hints of the reds behind the kids.
