Rerun: Sunlight

Yes, it is sunny out today, but we’re staring at twenty inches of snow in the next storm, which starts tomorrow. This is on top of the three feet we probably have at the house now. On the bright side, there will be plenty of water around this spring!

Weary Climber

This picture reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit. Not only because Ethan’s had this bear literally since he was born, and Lucky Bear is obviously loved-in. But this week John also taught me a trick using High Pass filter and blending, which tends to make people’s eyes brighter and more expressive. (I used this trick on this picture of Ethan, actually.) I tried it on this, and realized that Lucky Bear actually has some iris in his eyes. Which just makes him look a bit more Real.

Lucky Bear on Swing

This year, Lucky Bear got to model for some pictures by himself. The only Photoshopping I did on this one was to make the colors a little more vivid. The background blurred on its own, which makes me love the telephoto lens too.

Wishing Rock

At our Handfasting, John and I will be giving rocks to the guests to throw in the lake and make a wish at the end of the ceremony. Originally, I had planned to take pictures of each of them. Then I left the camera at home on the second walk.

Oh well. ;)

Right in my own backyard too! Too bad I don’t like candy corn…

Two Flowers

This is another picture I took in the evening. I did have to do a lot of Photoshop work with it, as the massive shadows from the flash were really annoying me.

Vine

With this one, I want to go back at some point during the day to take pictures. It is quite a bit photoshopped, as I had to use a flash to get the flowers.

MIT and Crew

My first experiment with swapping out a sky. For the record, it was in the 50′s and rainy this day. And I’m not sure that this was MIT’s crew…
