Rerun: Out My Back Door

Busy weekend, and will be getting back to picture editing…tomorrow? Until then, a nice rerun picture for you!

Out My Back Door

Leaf Drop

This is from May last year, which means yay! We’re getting closer to spring this year!

A Little Snack

Speaking of the narrow depth of field on the 50mm lens…

A Little Snack

Yes!

Taken with the Canon 5D Mark II…no retouching at all. As John would say, “Yes! Yes!! YES!!!”

Clover

So they say the groundhog saw didn’t see his shadow today, so there will be an early spring. I hope so, MISTER GROUNDHOG…

Rerun: Sunlight

Yes, it is sunny out today, but we’re staring at twenty inches of snow in the next storm, which starts tomorrow. This is on top of the three feet we probably have at the house now. On the bright side, there will be plenty of water around this spring!

Weary Climber

This picture reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit. Not only because Ethan’s had this bear literally since he was born, and Lucky Bear is obviously loved-in. But this week John also taught me a trick using High Pass filter and blending, which tends to make people’s eyes brighter and more expressive. (I used this trick on this picture of Ethan, actually.) I tried it on this, and realized that Lucky Bear actually has some iris in his eyes. Which just makes him look a bit more Real.

Lucky Bear on Swing

This year, Lucky Bear got to model for some pictures by himself. The only Photoshopping I did on this one was to make the colors a little more vivid. The background blurred on its own, which makes me love the telephoto lens too.
